Principal Psychiatrist (40 Hour)

he State of Connecticut, Department of Children and Families (DCF) seeks a qualified individual for a Principal Psychiatrist.

Additional Compensation Bonus Eligibility:   
  • In addition to the base annual salary, you may be approved for a recruitment incentive of up to thirty thousand dollars ($30,000).  
  • Physicians who are Board-Certified in their area of practice will be eligible to receive a three thousand dollar ($3,000) annual bonus.
  • Physicians who have a job related second Board (e.g., Child & Adolescent, pediatrics, forensic pathology, etc.) will be eligible to receive a five thousand dollar ($5,000) annual bonus.
  • Voluntary on-call coverage and weekend coverage may be available at additional reimbursement
The Schedule:
  • Full-time - 40 Hour per week
  • First Shift
  • Monday - Friday
  • 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • One evening shift: 10:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
  • Albert J. Solnit Children’s Center – PRTF, South Campus, Middletown, CT
The Role:
This position will be responsible for the psychiatric care of adolescents and will lead an interdisciplinary treatment team and coordinate the execution of comprehensive treatment plans. The psychiatrist in this position may have the opportunity to train and supervise post graduate trainees in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry from the Yale Child Study Center training program.

The Albert J. Solnit Children's Center – PRTF, South Campus is a state-administered Psychiatric facility for Connecticut’s children who are under the age of eighteen, located on a 67-acre campus overlooking the Connecticut River in Middletown, CT. The center provides comprehensive care to children and adolescents with severe mental illness and related behavior and emotional problems who cannot be safely assessed or treated in a less restrictive setting.
